Global Security Watch > Fat: The Terror Within
[Concurring Opinions] That's because, as Saletan alludes to, but my co-blogger Dan Filler has nailed, obesity is an example of a "risk society panic," with no clear moral victims, but more importantly, no folk devils to focus society's ire. [the f spot.] Rotisserie humans: True to SF's promise of "crabs, tattoos and frozen custard", we paused briefly outside one of the tattoo parlors to admire their range of graphics (and snigger derisively at the pseudo-Chinese characters that would doubtlessly find their way onto some unsuspecting gweilo's arm).
